The queen is dead, her heir missing, and chaos reigns in Celestial Valley.

It rained for a solid week after Moonshadow's death, flooding all but the highest terras and wreaking destruction upon the land. More than a month later, it has not rained since, and with the floodwaters drying up fast, the equines of Celestial Valley are growing desperate.

The lights are divided. Feuds between herds that were once closer than blood rage on, those that once prided themselves on their loyalty to one another will betray each other for a pittance. They row constantly. No one can agree on who has the right to lead and the once peaceful heaven kissers fight bitterly against their brothers.

The darks too are not as united as they once were. Aladdins once loyal followers are divided, and though he still has his supporters, many now doubt him. After the events at the battlefield Aladdin's reputation is in tatters - there was no clear victory for either monarch, and for this the Darks hold Aladdin responsible. Did he not swear to slay Moonshadow, to lead them to glory? Did their kin not sacrifice themselves for his worthy cause?

A new contender has emerged. The dark stallion Igneous. Of his origins, no one is certain, but one thing is undoubted. He will not rest until he has what he wants, and what he wants is the throne. And not just the dark throne. He is determined that he will conquer all, and he will stop at nothing to acheive absolute power. His servants wreak havoc upon the land, attacking and killing all in their path, and with the lights as divided as they are, it seems certain that Celestial Valley will fall.

The neutrals, as usual, remain indifferent to the troubles of the world around them, but with so much evil in their midst will they be able to hold true to their principals?

Water is scarce, and food scarcer still. The hierachy has crumbled, and with Moonsilver's apparent desertion, there is no one to restore order, no one to unite the light kingdom, no one to stop the gathering darkness.

A new evil is rising, and for the horses of Celestial Valley, the world is about to change for ever.
